Carnival Cruise Line’s new Carnival Celebration will feature a Miami-themed zone to pay homage to the culture, architecture and “urban-meets-laid back vibes” of Carnival’s home city.
The space will have vibrant colors and opportunities for Instagram moments such as posing with flamingoes on skateboards.
In a nod to the address of Carnival’s original headquarters, the zone will be named 820 Biscayne.
“Miami has been our home for 50 years, and in bringing a brand-new ship to its port, we wanted to show some extra love to the city that helped us become who we are today,” said Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy.
The retro-inspired Bar 820 will serve Cuban and specialty coffees as well as tropical drinks and martinis. The bar will have indoor and outdoor sections.
820 Biscayne also will feature the Deco Deli, a colorful space paying tribute to Miami Beach’s art deco historic district. The location will serve Cuban sandwiches such as the cubano (pork, ham, swiss cheese and mustard), the croqueta (ham-and-cheese croquettes, shaved ham and pickles) and pan con lechon (slow-cooked pulled pork, onion and mojo sauce).
The Miami zone will also have a 24-hour pizza walk-up called Miami Slice, serving slices and featuring vibrant décor similar to the late-night eateries on Miami Beach’s Ocean Drive.
The Celebration’s inaugural sailing is scheduled for Nov. 21, departing from the redesigned Terminal F at PortMiami.
