Barbados chosen to host Caribbean Travel Marketplace

Barbados will host this year’s Caribbean Travel Marketplace, to take place May 9 to 11 at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre in Bridgetown.

It is the first time Barbados has hosted the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association event. It is the CHTA’s largest annual event, attracting suppliers from at least 25 Caribbean countries and includes representatives of accommodations, tourist boards, transportation companies, tour operators and other sectors.

The second annual Caribbean Travel Forum & Awards, which recognizes key leaders, organizations and destinations, will be held on May 9. This year’s forum will focus on air connectivity between islands, multidestination marketing, sustainability, technology innovations, labor market constraints and taxation. The forum is a separate event from the marketplace.

“CHTA has a very strong relationship with both public and private sector stakeholders in Barbados, and as we position the region’s top earner for robust growth this year, we are delighted to lock arms with our Bajan partners to drive business to the Caribbean,” said CHTA president Nicola Madden-Greig.
