JetBlue and Icelandair expand codeshare agreement

JetBlue and Icelandair have expanded their codeshare arrangement to include Icelandair-operated flights from Reykjavik to seven destinations in continental Europe and the U.K. 

JetBlue had already been placing its code on Icealandair flights to Reykjavik from Boston, Newark and New York JFK . With the expansion, JetBlue customers can also book Icelandair routes beyond Reykjavik to Glasgow, Scotland; Manchester, England; Helsinki, Finland; Oslo, Norway; Amsterdam; Copenhagen, Denmark; and Stockholm, Sweden. The new codeshare flights are now available for booking on JetBlue’s website.

Icelandair and JetBlue launched their codeshare partnership in 2011. The carriers also offer reciprocal loyalty point accrual and said they plan to soon begin offering reciprocal loyalty point redemption. 

In other codeshare news Tuesday, Oneworld members Alaska Airlines and British Airways said that they have expanded their partnership with 16 new codeshares on Alaska-operated flights beyond Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Specific routes weren’t announced. 

Since joining Oneworld at the end of March, Alaska has implemented codeshare partnerships with Qatar Airways and Iberia and has expanded its partnerships with alliance members American, Cathay, Finnair and now British Airways.
