‘Beautiful’ Costa del Sol restaurant has one of Spain’s best views

Dinner with a view is often a holiday highlight. One of Spain’s best views can be found at a restaurant in Malaga province.

The Repsol Guide ranked Spain’s best restaurants with a view and one in popular Malaga made the list.

La Garganta, which overlooks the beautiful Caminito del Rey, was named one of the six best restaurants in Spain with a view.

Diners can enjoy their meal with a spectacular view of the Los Gaitanes Gorge as a backdrop.

Dishes include local delicacies such as stewed rabbit in orange sauce or pork or vegetable croquettes.

Prices are reasonable with main dishes costing around 14 euros (£12.40) and sharing dishes around eight euros (£7.08).

However, reviews were mixed on Tripadvisor with some diners less than happy with their experience.

‘SarajQ948MG’ said: “Food was very tasteless and poor quality. The service was super slow and rude.”

Another reviewer ‘Supermercado’ said: “Apart from their lasagne, all other dishes were either dry, overcooked or greasy.”

Despite the negative reviews, many other diners did enjoy their meal and thought the views were “beautiful”.

‘QUEEN_JSE’ said: “Beautiful location and nice mouthwatering menu. Salmon and cream cheese salad were delicious.”

‘675cindyj’ said: “Luscious lunch in fantastic location. We ate outside on the terrace with the beautiful view.”

The restaurant is part of a hotel complex and guests can choose from lofts, suites and rooms with their own jacuzzi.

The hotel is ideally located to explore Spain’s incredible Caminito del Rey, an incredible walkway.

The El Caminito del Rey is a unique path, suspended 100 metres up the walls of the gorge, which isn’t for the fainthearted.

Tourists can choose to brave the walkway or admire the views from the hotel. Griffin vultures are a common sight.

The path is also easily reachable on a day trip from Malaga and tourists could enjoy lunch at La Garganta.
