Spain is ditching all its Covid travel rules for Brits in time for half term

Planning Spain holidays just got a little easier for Brits as the country just scrapped the last of its Covid travel rules for UK holidaymakers, in a huge boost ahead of the half term holidays.

Previously, Spain was requiring UK travellers to show either proof of full Covid vaccination, a negative Covid test or proof of recovery from Covid if they wanted to enter the holiday hotspot.

However as of today (October 21), these rules have been lifted, prompting the UK's Foreign Office to update its Spain travel advice to reflect the changes.

It explains: "From 21 October 2022, all COVID-19 travel restrictions for travellers to Spain have been lifted. The rules that previously applied to travellers coming to Spain no longer apply:

  • you are no longer required to show proof of being fully vaccinated
  • you are no longer required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test
  • you are no longer required to show proof of having recovered from COVID-19 in the last 6 months.
  • you are no longer required to complete a health control form prior to travel.
